Empowering International Academic Cooperation at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences

On December 17, 2026, the School of Dentistry at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences welcomed a delegation from Iraq as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international and academic collaboration. The visit featured Dr. Mouayad Zwain, Dean of the School of Dentistry at the University of Cordoba, Iraq.

The program began at 10:30 AM with a warm reception led by Dr. Dalaei, International Consultant to the School of Dentistry, and Dr. Qorbani, Chief of Oral Health and Social Dentistry. They introduced Dr. Zwain to the school’s specialized departments, laboratories, and educational facilities, highlighting the institution’s scientific capabilities and its role as a leading dental education center in the region.

Dr. Faeghi, Director of International Relations and Development, outlined the university’s extensive opportunities for academic cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges, specialty short‑term training programs, and the development of joint academic initiatives. He emphasized the International Affairs Department’s readiness to establish collaborative projects and formalize practical Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs).

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Ebadi Far, Dean of the School of Dentistry at SBMU, expressed his appreciation for Dr. Zwain’s visit, stating: “We are honored to begin a new chapter of bilateral cooperation with universities and academic centers across Iraq.” He reaffirmed the school’s full commitment to sharing scientific expertise and advancing academic partnerships in the field of dentistry.

This visit served as an important step toward building sustainable academic relationships and expanding educational and clinical opportunities between Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and its Iraqi counterparts.
